América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. provides telecommunications services in Latin America and internationally. The company offers wireless and fixed voice services, including local, domestic, and international long-distance services; and network interconnection services. It also provides data services, such as data centers, data administration, and hosting services to residential and corporate clients; value-added services, including Internet access, messaging, and other wireless entertainment and corporate services; data transmission, email services, instant messaging, content streaming, and interactive applications; and wireless security services, mobile payment solutions, machine-to-machine services, mobile banking, virtual private network services, and video calls and personal communications services. In addition, the company offers residential broadband services; IT solutions for small businesses and large corporations; and cable and satellite pay television subscriptions. Further, it sells equipment, accessories, and computers; and offers telephone directories, wireless security, call center, advertising, media, and software development services. Additionally, the company provides video, audio, and other media content through the Internet directly from the content provider to the end user. It sells its products and services under the Telcel, Telmex Infinitum, and A1 brands through a network of retailers and service centers to retail customers; and through sales force to corporate customers. As of December 31, 2021, the company had approximately 286.5 million wireless voice and data subscribers. América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. was incorporated in 2000 and is based in Mexico City, Mexico.

Brazil's Oi aims to raise $363 mln to expand fiber network, newspaper reports
Brazilian telecommunications company Oi SA is preparing to raise more than 2 billion reais ($363 million) by the start of 2021 to expand its fiber optic network, newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo said on Tuesday. Oi filed for the largest-ever bankruptcy protection in 2016 and has been undergoing restructuring with an aim to exit the bankruptcy process in 2022. Estado did not give further details on how Oi would raise the money.

Brazil's Oi ends exclusive talks with Digital Colony's Highline - source
Brazilian telecom Oi SA ended exclusive negotiations on Monday with Highline do Brasil, a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm Digital Colony, for the sale of its mobile assets, a source familiar with the matter said. Highline presented the best bid for Oi's mobile unit on July 18, which had a minimum value established by the Brazilian telecom firm of 15 billion reais ($2.86 billion). Four days later, however, telecoms operators TIM Participacoes, Telefonica Brasil SA and America Movil SAB de CV's Claro submitted a joint 16.5 billion reais ($3.15 billion) new bid for Oi's mobile assets, higher than Highline's offer.

Telecoms Tim Participacoes , Telefonica Brasil and America Movil's Claro on Monday night raised their bid to buy Oi SA's mobile assets out of bankruptcy for 16.5 billion reais ($3.21 billion). The new offer comes after Oi said it had begun exclusive talks with another potential buyer, called Highline do Brasil, a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm Digital Colony. Digital Colony, a private equity firm backed by U.S. real estate investor Thomas Barrack and Digital Bridge Holdings, has delivered a bid for the mobile unit of bankrupt Brazilian carrier Oi SA, two sources familiar with the matter said. Focused on investing in digital infrastructure in Canada, Latin America and Europe, Digital Colony is interested in Oi's mobile fixed assets, not necessarily in providing telecom services directly to consumers, the sources said. Digital Colony could seek partnerships with other telecoms players to provide them with services using its infrastructure if it proceeds with the deal, which could also involve further asset sales down the road, one of the sources said.
