Mondi PLC (LSE:MNDI) is set to update the market on its first quarter trading next Friday, May 3, after the paper firm walked away from a bidding war for rival DS Smith earlier this month. Mondi had looked to snub US group International Paper Co (NYSE:IP, ETR:INP) for DS, but withdrew any intention to bid further after the Memphis-based £5.8 billion offer was accepted.
